Welcome to my first blog entry.
I started this site based on several factors.
First, I co-wrote a book in early 2011, actually an amalgamation of recipes from family and friends, as a gift to my son and his wife for their marriage.
I created a second book (a personal book) about my granddaughter and her 8-month living experience in Hong Kong).
Third, I authored a book called “11 Strategies To Mastering The College Athletic Recruiting Process.” This was a labor of love and the byproduct of working closely with my oldest son. He wanted to play college baseball. He wasn’t heavily recruited so we embarked on a process of learning, devising, refining, and ultimately creating our own process. This process was designed for those students that have a passion, a love of a specific sport, who are good enough to play their sport in college but they are not being heavily recruited. Rather than “give up on their dream” I felt it was important to equip high school players (freshman through senior) with the “process” and the “letters, emails, school scorecard information, free information on what to be doing each year of high-school to better your chances of playing in college.” The book is available on Amazon and is written under the “Top Student Athletes” moniker.
An additional, wonderful reason I started this site, blog, etc., I authored the Children’s Book “Abigail Mails A Snail.” This is the direct result of sitting with my granddaughter, reading numerous books, making up stories, etc. and this particular “suggestion” stuck with me and within months, the book was born. I can’t tell you how proud I am of the book and how much joy I know it brings to kids who read it. I’ve seen the smiles, giggles, and laughter first hand, and it is so inspiring to see children laughing. Is the book a bit silly? Maybe. But in all honesty, it is just a few pages of “whimsical fun for kids,” contains a few unusual things (like how realistic is it to mail a snail?) but laughter and fun is certainly something today’s children need. Abigail Mails A Snail is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and several other places online. It’s easy to find. If you purchase a copy, I’d be grateful, and would appreciate a review from you as well. If you have any particular comments about the book, please feel free to email me at steven@stevenrichards.media.
I’m also in the planning stages of my next book titled: “D-A-S-H.” The premise is pretty straightforward, albeit simple. You were born. You are here. You have unique experiences everyday. You encounter situations and people constantly. How are you impacting others? While you are here on Earth, you continuously develop your “dash” – that small little line between your birth date and the day you leave this world.
What are you doing to make your dash count?
What are you doing to make an impact?
Thank you again for stopping by, visiting the site, and reading the blog, I appreciate your time. Until next time……..
